Too Young To…

Too young to think of changes I’ve been told a hundred times; too young to be mature, to be that grown up, but not too young to realize love is being left aside and selfishness taking its place.

Very few people understand the meaning of growing up. Our oldies think that changes will naturally take place once we are adults. They don’t realize changes are the way to growth, the only way. Thus, we are taught to follow outdated advices, to be obedient and not to answer back no matter who we are supposed to be respectful to.

I’ve always thought our education depends on parents and teachers who pretend to promote our freedom, our will power, our intelligence,  but in fact they are producing robots  to be sold  at a very low price.

Silence and resignation, that is what we are offered; chances of survival.

VERSIÓN EN CASTELLANO

Demasiado jóven para  afrontar cambios se me ha dicho cientos de veces; demasiado joven para haber madurado, para ser tan maduro como para opinar, pero no tanto como para no  darme cuenta  que el  amor ha cedido ante el egoismo.

Nuestros mayores creen que solo los adultos pueden  llevar a cabo los cambios. No se dan cuenta que el cambio es lo que lleva al crecimiento; que sin cambio no hay crecimiento. Así, se nos enseña a que sigamos consejos que no son compatibles con la realidad; a ser obedientes, a no ser contestatarios de un sistema al que tarde o temprano tendremos que adaptarnos.

Siempre he pensado que la educación que recibimos está en manos de nuestros padres y maestros que simulan promover nuestra libertad, nuestra voluntad, nuestra inteligencia pero solo nos transforma en productos que se cotizan en el mercado al más bajo precio.
Silencio y  resignación es lo que se nos ofrece; oportunidades para la supervivencia pero no para vivir.
Y eso no puede ser.
